2020 has been tough. Among the many challenges the year threw our way, anti-choice lawmakers have weaponized COVID-19 to make dangerous, anti-science attacks on our reproductive freedoms. Under the spurious guise of “public safety,” many states limited or completely banned abortion access during the pandemic — but we know the real threat to safety comes from restricting regulated care.
Now, Roe v Wade is under perilous threat — even though 70% of Americans want it upheld — putting our communities at even greater risk.
But our little team has been determined to find reasons to stay hopeful. We’ve found energy in building part of a future we still believe is coming: one where everyone is able to access the full-spectrum of healthcare they need — including abortion — conveniently, affordably and on their own terms.
But we need leaders in office who will fuel this momentum, not get in its way. Leaders who will stand for the rights of marginalized communities, not hinder them. Who design policies around expertise and empathy, not ego.
This election is the most critical in decades. In “Our bodies, our ballots,” we’ve partnered with 7 amazing illustrators who convey how much is at stake — and just how much each vote matters.
All proceeds from the store will go towards funding abortion care for any of our patients who need it, in partnership with the digital abortion fund Reprocare.
